AXA Named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) awarded AXA a perfect score on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index

NEW YORK--()--AXA, a leader in providing life insurance and annuity products, has scored a perfect score of 100 for the fourth consecutive year and has been deemed one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

The HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is the national benchmarking survey on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees. The survey evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Employers who receive a score of 100 satisfy all of the CEI’s criteria and receive the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.

“We do our best to make AXA a place where people can bring their whole selves to work and where our differences can be celebrated,” said Marine de Boucaud, Chief Human Resources Officer, AXA US. “The recognition by HRC inspires our continued efforts to improve the support and benefits we offer all employees as there is still room for improvement.”

AXA has a history of supporting its LGBT employees by adopting programs to improve workplace equality, including offering health-care benefits to same-sex couples for the past thirteen years and covering same-sex couples in its parental leave policy. AXA Pride, an employee resource group founded in 2009, creates and sustains an AXA presence in the LGBT community to drive business results and promote equality for all employees. Through partnership with AXA Pride, AXA has been a gold sponsor of NYC Pride since 2014 with a large employee population participating each year. In addition, many AXA Advisors financial professionals located in branches across the country specialize in financial planning for same-sex couples and their families.
