TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Softchoice, a leading North American IT solutions and managed services provider, has been honored for the second year in a row with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, recognizing the company as one of the Best Places to Work in 2017. The Employees’ Choice Awards program, now in its ninth year, relies solely on the input of employees, who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments and companies via Glassdoor.
“We devote a lot of time, energy and resources to ensure we provide growth opportunities and challenging careers that enable our people to unleash their potential,” said David MacDonald, President and CEO, Softchoice. “This recognition from Glassdoor is very special because it comes from the unsolicited, unfiltered feedback from the people who make our culture what it is.”
Softchoice’s award-winning corporate culture has a lot to do with its focus on growing and developing its employees. This includes offering training programs for all employees, and providing frequent open and transparent communication on the performance and direction of the company. Softchoice offers many reward and recognition programs that celebrate the impact employees make on their co-workers, customers and business partners. Softchoice also offers numerous opportunities to participate in employee-led philanthropic activities, like Softchoice Cares.
“Providing our people with a meaningful work environment, that also provides the opportunity for personal and professional growth, is at the core of our values,” said Kelly Breedon, SVP People & Growth. “This award is a reflection of our fantastic culture, through the hearts and minds of our employees.”
Softchoice’s corporate culture has also been recognized by Achievers as one of its 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America (2015), and a Best Workplace in Canada by the Great Place to Work Institute for 11 straight years (2006-16).
“Company culture and the employee experience are critical considerations for job seekers everywhere when deciding where to work. To help, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards recognize companies that truly stand out as Best Places to Work because they’re purely determined by the authentic voice of those who really know a company best - the employees,” said Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO and co-founder. “Employers where employees love to work continue to prove that they have a recruiting and business performance edge. We’re proud to celebrate the 2017 Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards winners in earning this incredible achievement.”
The Best Places to Work are determined using company reviews shared by Canada-based employees between November 2, 2015 and October 30, 2016. To be considered for the Canada category, a company must have at least 1,000 employees and received at least 25 company reviews from Canada-based employees during the period of eligibility. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor’s proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews.
