NCC TO BUILD 187 SUSTAINABLE HOUSING UNITS

NCC and TDC Pensionskasse pension fund have signed an agreement to construct housing units, a parking facility and a green area in Teglholmen in Copenhagen, Denmark. The order is worth SEK 380 million.

Regulatory News:

NCC (STO:NCCA)(STO:NCCB) is to build approximately 187 housing units, an underground parking facility and a large green area with a jetty and harbor side walkway at Teglværkshavnen port in Teglholmen, Copenhagen. The area will be known as Tegholm Brygge and encompasses a total area of 18,000 m2.

“NCC is highly committed to building a sustainable society. We are one of the leading construction companies in terms of certified buildings. We are proud to be building sustainable rental units for TDC Pensionskasse,” says Palle Bjerre Rasmussen, Head of NCC Building Denmark.

The construction project will gain DGNB certification, which is one of the most prominent sustainability standards. This is in response to increased demand from investors and developers for sustainable construction.

The advantages of DGNB certification are that buildings are future-proofed and resource waste is minimized, entailing lower energy, operation and maintenance costs. One of the features residents will enjoy is improved indoor climate conditions and thus enhanced quality of life compared with a traditional building.

“Real estate investments are, in our opinion, one of the most attractive investments. We expect the investment in Teglholm Brygge to clearly provide a good return on investment, and it supports TDC Pensionskasse´s total pension fund investment strategy to increase our residential exposure in the Danish capital region," says Leif Stidsen, CEO of TDC Pensionskasse.

All of the housing units in Teglholmen will be rental units and comprise one to four-bedroom apartments ranging from 79 m2 to 144 m2. All of the apartments will have balconies and there will be a courtyard that will lead down to a jetty and harbor side walkway, which will also be open to the public.

“We hope that the investment in Teglholm Brygge will provide a good return on investment for the TDC Pension Fund. The investment is part of our desired exposure in the capital region,” said Leif Stidsen., Head of TDC Pensionskasse.

The detailed development plan has been approved. Construction will commence at the start of October 2016 and is scheduled for completion in November 2018. The order will be registered in the fourth quarter in the NCC Building business area.
