NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Situs, the premier global provider of strategic business solutions for the finance and commercial real estate industries, today announced it has hired Randall Eron Shy as Managing Director and General Counsel, effective Dec. 1, 2016.
Based in New York City, Mr. Shy will be responsible for the oversight of Situs’ Legal Department. Mr. Shy will report to Nick Rudenstine, President of Situs.
“Mr. Shy has a deep knowledge of transactional real estate law, developed over more than 20 years across the entire spectrum of institutional real estate debt and equity investment,” said Mr. Rudenstine. “Mr. Shy’s career has spanned work in a firm, sell-side fixed income portfolio management, and most recently acting as a senior transaction lawyer and risk manager for a leading buy-side firm. His experience and understanding of our industry will be a tremendous asset as Situs continues to expand its reach and service offerings, and we are excited to have him join the leadership team.”
Mr. Shy joins Situs from Fortress Investment Group. Since 2008, he’s held various roles within Fortress’ Credit Funds business, most recently serving as Managing Director and Counsel for the Credit and Real Estate Funds. Prior to Fortress, Mr. Shy was Director and Head of Whole Loan Transaction Management at WaMu Capital Corp. Before that, he held various roles within Credit Suisse Group’s Fixed Income Division. From 1996 through 2003, Mr. Shy was an Associate in the Corporate Finance, Real Estate and Structured Finance practices of Sidley Austin LLP in New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong. Mr. Shy earned degrees from the University of Michigan and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
