SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Waterford Institute, a nonprofit edtech and research center, has received an endorsement from the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) for its Waterford Early Learning curriculum, a designation that highlights Waterford’s dedication to children with exceptional needs.
Waterford received the endorsement following an extensive review by CASE’s Publication and Products Review committee to confirm the program met or exceeded its criteria, including a strong research base, proven effectiveness and enhancement of CASE’s professional practices in the special education field. Upon the completion of the very rigorous process, the committee recommended to the CASE executive committee to endorse the product.
CASE President Gary Myrah thanked Waterford for “bringing such a fine product to the attention of Special Education Administrators in the United States as a tool to advance our mission.”
Waterford Early Learning personalizes instruction in reading, math and science by employing adaptive learning software to meet each child’s needs at his or her own pace and level. Educators say the multimodal curriculum allows students to experience an accessible one-on-one environment where they can excel through songs and developmentally appropriate activities.
Extensive research also shows Waterford’s effectiveness with special education students. One study in particular by the Utah State Board of Education confirms that students who used Waterford experienced both short- and long-term gains across demographics including special education, outperforming state averages kindergarten through grade four.
