RiskIQ Joins Expert Panel on Vulnerabilities, Controls and Continuous Monitoring Webinar Hosted by SANS.org

SANS 2016 Continuous Monitoring Survey Reveals Significant Digital Threat Monitoring Gap

SAN FRANCISCO--()--RiskIQ, the leader in digital risk management, is proud to participate and co-sponsor the SANS webcast on ‘Vulnerabilities, Controls and Continuous Monitoring ’ on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. The webinar will highlight survey trends identified in SANS.org’s annual survey, which show the increased adoption of continuous monitoring (CM), program benefits, operational gaps, and best practices. Additionally, RiskIQ CMO, Scott Gordon, will join a panel of distinguished security thought leaders to discuss how security teams can improve the CM process to more efficiently detect and respond to modern attacks and vulnerabilities across network, cloud, web, mobile, and social environments.

For this year’s report, SANs surveyed more than 290 security professionals and found that external visibility, including tools that help provide insights to web-based vulnerabilities, malicious URLs, and attachments are on top of mind. However, the survey findings also revealed a significant and impactful security management and incident response gap.

  • Less than 36% of respondents indicated that they can identify external threats that can be used to launch cyberattacks,
  • More than 70% have not found means to reduce their attack surface,
  • Only about 20% of respondents regularly found malicious websites hosting phishing web pages, and malicious websites hosting malware/EKs.

Given that more than 80% of data breaches are due to external threat actors*, it is imperative that organizations complement their portfolio of internal control monitoring tools with digital threat management capabilities to reveal security exposures across web, social and mobile platforms which exist outside a company’s firewall.

The upcoming webinar will address the changing threat landscape and how to protect and detect security exposures by providing expert industry insight in addition to sharing details of survey findings. To attend the free webinar register at:
