OLDWICK, N.J.--()--A.M. Best’s Senior Director Thomas Mount will speak at the 2016 Casualty Actuarial Society Annual Meeting, taking place November 13–16 at Loews Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando, FL. Mr. Mount’s presentation will be about changes to Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR) and Best’s Credit Rating Methodology (BCRM) on Wednesday, November 16, at 8:00 a.m. (EST).

BCAR and BCRM were significantly changed during 2016, and insurance companies have been shown the differences between the new models and the previous ones. The new methodology represents BCAR scores at various Value at Risk (VaR) confidence levels. The session will discuss the technical changes and implications on future A.M. Best ratings. A question and answer opportunity will follow the presentation. More information on A.M. Best’s rating methodology can be found at http://www3.ambest.com/ambv/ratingmethodology.
