LONGMONT, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UQM Technologies Inc. (NYSE MKT: UQM) today announced that it has received a new and updated China certification on its PowerPhase® HD250 electric propulsion system that meets the latest 2015 version of the Chinese general specifications for electric motors and inverters for electric vehicles. The testing, conducted over a two month period at the China Automotive Technology & Research Center in Tianjin, included extensive system performance analysis for power and torque, environmental examinations including vibration, salt spray, sealing performance and electrical testing.
The UQM PowerPhase HD250 system is specifically designed for heavy-duty drive applications and provides up to 95 percent system efficiency. The system consists of a high-performance, liquid-cooled, permanent magnet motor and a high-power, liquid-cooled inverter with a full-featured digital signal processor controller. This system is used in the recently announced PowerPhase DT drivetrain with a two speed Eaton transmission for several key China bus customers, including HK Group, Wuzhoulong Motors and ITL.
