ARLINGTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--John Richard “J.R.” Thompson has been named Seed Company’s Chief Financial Officer, the company announced today.
“We are delighted with Mr. Thompson’s skills, experience and strategic approach to business,” said Samuel E. Chiang, Seed Company president and CEO. “He will play a key role as Seed Company and the entire Bible translation movement pray and strategize toward reaching all people with God’s Word.”
Thompson brings a combination of ministry and corporate background to his new role at Seed Company. He holds extensive experience with Big Four, Fortune 1000 and privately held entities, and has served as associate pastor at West Ridge Christian Community Church near Pittsburgh, Pa. His financial leadership in the domestic and international arenas has focused on internal controls, process improvement, acquisition and treasury management.

During his tenure with Harsco Corporation, Thompson held internal audit, regional finance manager and business unit controller roles. He has been a trusted member of senior management teams and is a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor of science and business administration degree in accounting from Robert Morris University and is pursuing a master of divinity degree from The King’s University.
Thompson will move soon to the Arlington area.
