KERRVILLE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--James Avery, a family-owned jewelry retailer, opened its new Kerrville Craftsman Center. On Monday, October 17th, Hill Country team members flowed into the 53,600-square-foot James Avery Craftsman Center for the first time to begin crafting the company’s iconic jewelry designs. The state-of-the-art facility is located along the banks of the Guadalupe River on 30 acres just across from the Kerrville Municipal Airport on Highway 27 in Kerrville, Texas. The company relocated 300 employees from its main Kerrville campus and current facility in Comfort, Texas to the new location. When fully occupied, the new building will accommodate over 500 employees.
George Lee, Executive Vice President of Manufacturing & Product Development at James Avery, comments on the new facility, “Kerrville is a prime location for our new production facility for four main reasons. First, the new Craftsman Center consolidates people and operations that were previously dispersed throughout six buildings on our main campus and one building in Comfort. Second, while the Kerrville community offers an available workforce, our existing facilities were unable to accommodate the needed increase in workers. In addition, our Kerrville and Comfort facilities have experienced workforces that will be critical in training new employees in the art of jewelry craftsmanship. Finally, the relocation in Kerrville will also allow us to repurpose existing buildings to support the strong growth we are experiencing throughout the company.”
