AmerisourceBergen, More Than 500 Manufacturers Look to the Future of the Pharmaceutical Industry at ThinkLive 2016

DALLAS--()--AmerisourceBergen today concluded its two-day annual manufacturer summit, ThinkLive 2016, which brought together more than 500 pharmaceutical manufacturers with AmerisourceBergen experts with the goal of driving collaboration and innovation in the delivery of pharmaceutical care.

“Patients, providers and pharmaceutical manufacturers are all experiencing new challenges and pressures in today’s changing healthcare environment,” said Peyton Howell, EVP, President of Global Sourcing and Manufacturer Relations at AmerisourceBergen. “Our annual ThinkLive meeting, and the work we do every day, is conducted with the goal of bridging the gaps between these various stakeholders and creating a more efficient and seamless system for patients to access and benefit from medicine.”

Howell presented remarks during general session, along with Steve Collis, Chairman, CEO and President of AmerisourceBergen, who discussed key trends that are impacting the delivery of pharmaceutical care.

Throughout the conference, manufacturers and AmerisourceBergen leadership had the opportunity to discuss critical industry matters, such as the evolution of independent pharmacy, innovative approaches to global product commercialization and access and maximizing value and outcomes in specialty pharmacy.

During general session, AmerisourceBergen recognized several individuals and companies with a variety of awards, including the “Shaping Healthcare Delivery” award, which was given to UNC Healthcare. The award celebrates a healthcare provider making a positive impact on healthcare delivery and was presented at general session. UNC Healthcare was recognized for its work in leveraging pharmacy to better support ongoing shifts in the continuum of care and deliver new value to the overall organization.
