Sunrise Senior Living Team Members Earn Industry “Hero Awards” for Excellence in Personalized Care

MCLEAN, Va.--()--Two Sunrise Senior Living team members in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, respectively, were recently recognized by health care associations for their individual contributions to providing seniors with compassionate, high-quality care.

Katiana Noisette, a Care Manager at Sunrise of Blue Bell, has been honored with the Pennsylvania Health Care Association’s (PHCA) 2016 Hero Award as Assisted Living/Personal Care Aide of the Year. Patti Elisano, Life Enrichment Manager at Sunrise of Raleigh, has been honored with the 2016 Assisted Living Hero of the Year Award by the North Carolina Assisted Living Association (NCALA). Both were nominated by their peers and residents’ family members who have been impacted by their dedication to serving seniors.

The PHCA Hero Awards recognize long-term and post-acute team members who go above and beyond not only to ensure that their residents receive outstanding care, but also improve the lives of those working and living in the building.

“My mother’s eyes light up when she sees [Katiana]. Kat always has a hug for her and a kind word. She has become part of our extended family. There is no better compliment we can give her,” said William Beaumont, a Sunrise of Blue Bell family member.

The NCALA Assisted Living Hero Awards recognize individuals who are ideal representatives of the senior living field and who demonstrate the highest levels of excellence, caring and dedication in the senior living business.

“Patti continually gives herself in large and small ways…And although she works a very demanding job, her energy never seems to fail. She is just as enthusiastic at 7:30 in the morning as she is at the end of the day,” said Sunrise of Raleigh family member Marie Hiott McEntire.

“Katiana and Patti perfectly personify our mission to champion quality of life for all seniors, as well as our Principles of Service. We are so proud of them and all of the serving hearts at Sunrise who deliver on our high standards of care and help promote residents’ dignity and independence,” said Jenifer Salamino, senior vice president of Operations for Sunrise.

Sunrise provides senior care in a safe and nurturing environment. Designated Care Managers are trained caregivers who consistently serve the same residents in a community, forming a rich relationship with each resident by learning their personal preferences and unique needs. Sunrise’s Life Enrichment Mangers serve residents with memory loss, personally getting to know residents and adapting activities and programming based on each individual’s unique life story, skills and interests.

Katiana received her award during a ceremony at PHCA’s annual convention on September 27. Patti was honored at NCALA’s fall conference on October 12. To read more about Katiana and Patti, visit The Sunrise Blog.
