Davidson College and Revature Announce Tuition-Free Online Coding Program

New online course will equip students of any background for careers in software development

DAVIDSON, N.C. & RESTON, Va.--()--Davidson College, a leading liberal arts institution, and Revature, a leading technology talent development company, today announced a strategic partnership to provide a robust, tuition-free online coding program to Davidson students and recent graduates.

RevaturePro, Revature’s online flagship training program, offers any Davidson student or graduate the tuition-free opportunity to learn modern software development languages, jump-starting a career in coding with top companies. The program is self-paced and features 18 courses in enterprise-level, next-generation and niche technologies. From beginner to advanced, coursework includes real-world projects, a mentor and access to certifications.

Once students complete the online courses, they are eligible to apply to Revature’s on-site coding bootcamp, an intensive, 12-week program that further prepares them for a career in software development. Upon admission, the bootcamp, held at Revature’s headquarters in Reston, VA, carries no cost and includes housing and a living allowance for students. Those who successfully complete the bootcamp are guaranteed employment with Revature.

“Davidson College students, due to their broad liberal arts education, are very well-suited to work in software development,” said Joe Mitchell, Senior Vice President of University Partnerships at Revature. “They already have the aptitude and the ability. Revature gives them the critical skills and training they require to enter the high-demand field of software coding.”

“Our partnership with Revature is a strong complement to our mission to help students prepare for lives of leadership and service after they’ve graduated,” said Carol Quillen, President of Davidson College. “Our students must be ready to meet the challenges of a world that changes more quickly every day. This partnership will give our students and recent alums another exciting option as they choose their paths after college.”

RevaturePro will be available to students and graduates beginning fall 2016.
