VisTracks Hours of Service Certified with FMCSA

Certification Assures Compliance For Resellers of VisTracks Industry-Leading Hours of Service Products

LISLE, Ill.--()--VisTracks, Inc. provider of the industry-leading family of Hours of Service (HOS) and DVIR applications has announced certification with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This certification denotes VisTracks’ compliance with the FMCSA December 2015 mandate for Electronic Logging Device (ELD) application software and hardware support. With the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) having issued mandates that require fleets to maintain electronic logs, it’s imperative that truck drivers are compliant with hours of service, rests, vehicle inspections and a myriad of other regulations.

VisTracks successfully passed all 318 FMCSA tests at an independent test lab. Hardware monitoring the vehicle’s OBD output successfully tested with the software includes the Geometris whereQube Eng™-80 Series and the Digi Wireless Vehicle Bus Adaptor (WVA). Additional hardware will be announced within the next few weeks. Resellers of VisTracks’ white-labelled tablet and portal-based HOS product set will not only have a certified product to sell, but also have the ability to self-certify their banded version of the software.

VisTracks Hours of Service product set consists of the Reseller-branded VisTracks’ DOT-compliant tablet app and portal together with a tablet or smartphone in the vehicle along with a certified hardware device attached to the engine and transmitting data via Bluetooth, WiFi Direct or a wired serial interface to the tablet. This solution will enable drivers to keep electronic logs of their driving status, be warned of impending violations, provide for pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection, and follow additional state and federal rules as well as Canadian rules.

“We are pleased to have gained certification with the FMCSA and appear on their website of approved ELD vendors,” says Dr. Stephen Eick, VisTracks’ Chief Executive Officer. “Not only will our resellers and their customers be more successful selling a certified product, but will also benefit from a number of added value features and ease of use not present in other HOS products. We also intend to add support for several additional hardware devices, thus giving customers the widest choice possible.”

“We are thrilled that VisTracks has gained certification with the FMCSA,” says Ray Lark, President and CEO of SRS Technologies. “We selected VisTracks HOS for resale after evaluating several competing products. Their product was easier to use and more sophisticated than the others.”

Key Features of VisTracks include:

  • Very easy to use, geared to non-technical drivers
  • Full featured app with several unique features for both HOS and DVIR
  • Synchronized portal for near real time back office management
  • Numerous API’s for customization and integration with Fleet Tracking software applications
