NEW YORK--()--First Look Media announced today the launch of Nibmoji, an emoji app from the cartoonists at The Nib. Nibmoji will serve as an essential and fun social media tool, taking on all the crazy and divisive issues of the current political landscape.

"Sometimes you need an actual image of a dumpster fire to get your point across," said Matt Bors, the founder of The Nib. "The 2016 election created a communication emergency. We've responded by issuing much-needed emojis for mansplainers, hot takes, Martin Luther King, Jr. crying and a piece of poop wearing a Trump hat.”

The Nib, a political comic platform and daily newsletter, delivers engaging and provocative social commentary in the form of political cartoons, comic journalism and non-fiction writing from a diverse team of contributors. First Look Media’s Product and Tech teams worked with political cartoonist Matt Bors to design a mobile first image-based website and now are working together again to create smart, politically snarky emojis centered on the current political events. Nibmoji contributors include Keith Knight, Matt Lubchansky, Eleri Harris, Andy Warner, Mark Kaufman, Kendra Wells, Brian McFadden and KC Green.

Nibmoji is available on Apple and Android platforms as a downloadable app for $0.99. The app will offer five categories of emojis with over 75 images to choose from, with a heavy focus on the Presidential election and social issues. Emojis will include a plethora of Hillary and Donald options, along with images that touch on everything from Black Lives Matter to LGBTQ rights and the popular ‘This Is Fine’ meme. “We’re thrilled to partner with Matt and his exceptional team of artists to bring their creativity to emoji form,” said Josh Epstein, EVP & Chief Business Officer of First Look Media. “Emojis have become an essential part of cultural conversation and we believe there is a big appetite for this unique social media product to talk about the 2016 election in a funny and thoughtful way.”
