Grant Thornton expands Cyber Risk and Transfer Pricing practices in Chicago

Information security specialist Derek Han and transfer pricing pro Glen Marku join to enhance the firm’s Advisory and Tax service lines

CHICAGO--()--Derek Han has joined Grant Thornton LLP as a principal in the Cyber Risk practice and Glen Marku has joined the firm as a managing director in the Transfer Pricing practice, based in Chicago.

Han has more than 18 years of experience in information security and IT risk consulting, including information security program assessment and implementation, information security policies and standards, network security architecture and Governance, Risk, and Compliance solution design and implementation. He specializes in network and systems security, IT compliance and risk management, privacy and data protection and HITRUST assessments. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Han served as a leader in the Cyber Risk Services Advisory practice at Deloitte.

Han received a master’s degree in management information systems from the University of Iowa, a master’s in business administration from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree from Beihang University. He is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), a certified HITRUST practitioner and a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.

“Glen brings more than a decade of experience in complex accounting matters, valuations and economic consulting to our Transfer Pricing practice – expertise that is invaluable to the firm and our clients,” said Brian Lucas, regional Tax leader of the firm’s Central region.

Marku has more than 10 years of public accounting experience and specializes in documentation, planning, and transfer pricing controversy matters for multinational clients. He also focuses on the valuation of financial instruments, complex securities and economic consulting. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Marku served as a senior manager in Economic and Valuation Services at KPMG.

Marku received a Ph.D. in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a master’s degree in economics from Western University in Canada and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Berea College. He is a member of the American Economic Association and the National Association for Business Economics. He also serves as adjunct professor at DePaul University and Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago-Kent College of Law) where he teaches graduate-level courses in transfer pricing.
