GEICO CAT teams on standby for Hermine

LAKELAND, Fla.--()--As Tropical Storm Hermine closes in on Florida and with the likelihood of it becoming a hurricane in coastal regions, GEICO is encouraging residents to tune into local and national weather forecasts and to follow advisories, updates and official emergency instructions.

"As we continue to track Hermine, we’re alerting our Catastrophe Response Teams (CAT) so they’ll be ready to assist policyholders any way we can," said GEICO senior vice president Shawn Burklin. "We’re urging residents to heed the instructions of their local officials to protect their families, their homes and vehicles during the storm."

The storm is expected to cause damaging conditions, and GEICO policyholders should report any losses on their GEICO mobile app, GEICO's website or call GEICO's claims team at 1-800-841-3000 anytime, day or night. Commercial vehicle policy holders can file a claim by calling 1-866-509-9444.

GEICO says claims can be filed as soon as storm damage affects property, and the claims will be processed and resolved as quickly as possible.
