Advanced BioCatalytics Completes Supply Agreement with Clean Gulf Associates

IRVINE, Calif.--()--Advanced BioCatalytics Corporation (ABC), an industrial biotechnology company, announced today it has completed a long-term supply agreement with Clean Gulf Associates, Inc. (also called “Clean Gulf” or “CGA”) to provide the organization with oil spill dispersants for emergency response to oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico.

CGA is dedicated to the Gulf of Mexico’s exploration and production industry, which provides continuous oil spill response coverage, state-of-the-art equipment, and expert personnel to assist its membership in mitigating marine incidents and protecting natural ecosystems.

ABC’s product, Accell Clean® DWD, is an oil spill dispersant based on the Company’s patented high performance Protein Surfactant Complex™ (PSC™). Accell Clean® DWD is listed in the EPA's National Contingency Plan (NCP) Product Schedule for dispersants. A companion product, Accell Clean® SWA for shoreline oil spill cleanup is also listed on the NCP Product Schedule and received a license from the State of California’s Department of Fish and Game/Office of Spill Prevention and Response as an oil spill cleanup agent.

“ABC has established a new paradigm with our Protein Surfactant Complex™ (PSC™) technology, and its ability to create and expand the functionality of surfactants. This innovative technology, which is based 100% on renewable materials, has the potential to disrupt several multi-billion dollar industries by creating products that have better human and environmental safety profiles. Most importantly, PSC based products are demonstrably superior over competitive products,” said Carl Podella, Exec. V.P. of Research and Development. “Another facet of the PSC is its ability to affect microbial metabolic processes, including biofilm formation, which can be applied to a variety of water, wastewater and soil bioremediation applications.”

Protein Surfactant Complex™, PSC™, Accell®, and Accell Clean® are trademarks of Advanced BioCatalytics Corporation.
