WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BDO Consulting, a division of BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations, today announced the appointment of John Riggi as Managing Director in the firm’s Technology Advisory Services practice and head of BDO’s Cybersecurity and Financial Crimes Unit. A highly decorated, 28-year veteran of the FBI, Mr. Riggi will provide strategic consulting services and advise organizations on cyber risk management strategy and program design, incident response, threat intelligence, and financial crimes, including anti-money laundering and terrorist financing.

At the FBI, Mr. Riggi served as the Section Chief for the Cyber Division Outreach Section, where he led the development of mission-critical partnerships with the private sector for the investigation and exchange of information related to national security and criminal cyber threats. He also held a national strategic leadership role to develop private sector outreach initiatives, and transformed them from reactive to proactive in every major FBI cyber investigation since 2014, including attacks against the entertainment, government, financial services, healthcare and energy sectors. In addition, Mr. Riggi served as the senior FBI representative to the White House Cyber Response Group and Financial Services Sector Steering Committee, as well as Executive Program Manager for the FBI-sponsored InfraGard Association. Previously, Mr. Riggi was the National Operations Manager for the FBI's Terrorist Financing Operations Section and spent two years at the CIA 's Counterterrorism Center.
Mr. Riggi is the recipient of the FBI Director’s Award for leading a highly successful terrorism financing interdiction program. He also received the CIA George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in Counterterrorism for expanding joint counterterrorism efforts between the FBI and CIA.
Mr. Riggi graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice.
