Foxwoods Resort Casino Reports June 2016 Slot Revenue

MASHANTUCKET, Conn.--()--Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $35.3 million for the month of June 2016. This figure is down 8.4 percent compared to $38.6 million in June of 2015. Handle for the month was $442 million, down 8.8 percent from the $484.9 million wagered in the same month in 2015.

Foxwoods’ contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in June 2016 is $8.9 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.

June was a game-changing month for the property as the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced plans to develop and operate Foxwoods Resort Casino at Biloxi Pointe in Mississippi. The news followed Foxwoods’ exciting reveal of four future celebrity-helmed dining experiences, including Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar at Foxwoods, Richard Rawlings’ GARAGE Bar & Grill, Sugar Factory American Brasserie and Cat Cora’s Wine Bar, all set to open this fall.

Foxwoods also cemented its position as the premier resort destination in the Northeast for guests and team members alike with multiple industry accolades. The Grand Pequot Tower and Fox Tower were certified as AAA Four Diamond Hotels for the fourteenth and ninth consecutive years respectively, and the property collected two American Business Awards for outstanding efforts in environmental services and human resources.

The June entertainment slate was not to be outdone, as Foxwoods showcased its deep lineup of diverse entertainment offerings with shows from Hollywood legend Al Pacino, Australian sensation Thunder From Down Under, mind-bending magician Michael Carbonaro and a jaw-dropping residency from Nik Wallenda’s Zirkus. The fun continued with stellar comedy performances from Maria Bamford and Cedric the Entertainer.

July is already off to a hot start, as Patricia Elliott of Elmont, NY won the $1 million jackpot at Foxwoods’ annual Firecracker Bingo tournament, which also marked the 30th anniversary of the property’s historic bingo hall. The Grand Theater hosted show-stopping concerts from Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry’s rock super group Hollywood Vampires, folk luminary Bob Dylan, and neo soul pioneer Maxwell. At the Fox Tower pool, celebrity DJ Pauly D turned the tables for Independence Day weekend at Liquid Sundays, the Northeast’s only Vegas-style pool party.

Throughout July, guests at Foxwoods can enjoy a slew of top-tier comedy acts including Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan and Steven Wright. For the classic rock aficionados, Foreigner and Jeff Beck with Buddy Guy are set to take the stage at Foxwoods’ state-of-the-art Grand Theater.
