WASHINGTON--()--Over 700 people from across the globe gathered at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, June 11 to celebrate graduates and alumni of the Jack Welch Management Institute, one of the fastest-growing executive MBA programs in the world. The program has graduated 501 working professionals since its inception in 2010 and currently has over 1,200 students enrolled.

“The unique mission of this school is to improve the lives of each and every graduate. Every one of us, from admissions, to the faculty, to administration, is committed to this goal -- it’s what JWMI is all about,” said Jack Welch, founder and Executive Chairman of JWMI while addressing graduates, alumni, and their families. “I see in our graduates the confidence and energy to take on just about any challenge.” Welch personally shook hands with every student as they crossed the stage.

In addition to recognizing the new generation of business leaders who graduated, Welch awarded Redskins’ Quarterback Kirk Cousins with an honorary MBA, explaining that Cousins was chosen for his natural leadership ability, humility, and perseverance as well as his record-shattering performance with the Redskins.

Welch interviewed Cousins on stage about the highs and lows of his career, and leadership lessons learned on and off the field. Bloomberg TV anchor Betty Liu also hosted a keynote Q&A session with Welch about the importance of candid feedback, how to lead winning teams, and more of today’s most urgent management issues.

Recently named the number one most influential education brand on LinkedIn and one of the top ten business schools to watch in 2016, the Jack Welch Management Institute offers an online MBA program that is specifically designed to help solve today’s leadership skills crisis in the workforce.
