IP EXPO Manchester 2016 Sees Phenomenal Growth in its Second Year

Europe’s number one IT event celebrates growing popularity year on year

LONDON--()--IP EXPO Manchester 2016 has confirmed its place as the north of England’s pioneering technology event with a 34% increase from its inaugural year in 2015, reflecting the growth of the developments in enterprise IT and digital innovation in the north.

The event, which ran 18-19th May at Manchester Central, attracted 4,634 visitors who were treated to over 85 unique seminar sessions and 112 exhibitors. Designed to guide those looking to find out how the latest IT innovations can drive their business forward, IP EXPO Manchester 2016 provided delegates with seminar content across six high-growth technology sectors under one roof, including Cyber Security, Cloud, Networks & Infrastructure, and Data Analytics.

A recent survey conducted by IP EXPO Manchester amongst IT professionals in the North West of England found that the key to securing the future growth of businesses in the region lies in improving technology networking and education initiatives. At IP EXPO Manchester 2016, businesses from across Europe were able to participate in vital panel discussions, enabling them to continue to drive growth and excite them about the future of technology, an important factor for Manchester and the North West technology community to maintain its strength, potential and future prosperity.

Day One of the free-to-attend event opened with a captivating keynote from Dame Stella Rimington, Former Director General of MI5, who said about the event: “It’s an open secret that Manchester is a hotbed of innovation and technology, and I was delighted to be invited to present at IP EXPO Manchester this year.”

Other high-profile seminars included an insightful opening keynote speech on Day Two from James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners at Microsoft, on modern working in 2016; a talk from Dr Sue Black OBE on Saving Bletchley Park, and a panel discussion on the future of cloud technologies with Marcus Robinson, Technical Evangelist at Microsoft; Matthew Finnie, Chief Technology Officer at Interoute; and Ian Massingham, Technical Evangelist at Amazon Web Services.
