Dr. Riley Hale Joins the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies as Hip, Knee, and Trauma Surgeon

GREELEY, Colo.--()--Dr. Riley Hale has joined the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies (OCR) as a surgeon specializing in the care of adults who need hip or knee replacement surgery, or surgery for fractures and trauma.

Appointments with Dr. Hale may be made at OCR’s new office in Greeley and its Loveland office. Call 970-419-7050 or 1-800-722-7441. His first day of appointments at OCR is today (May 16).

“I truly enjoy helping the individuals I take care of,” Dr. Hale said. “My care philosophy for patients is a ‘rolling stone gathers no moss.’”

Many of his patients have their hip replacement surgery done with the anterior technique. With this approach, Dr. Hale replaces the arthritic or injured hip through the front of the joint.

“We’re pleased to have Dr. Hale join our office and provide his expertise in joint replacement surgery and trauma care,” said Dr. Rocci Trumper, OCR’s board president.

Performing anterior hip replacement surgery allows patients to recover and return quickly to activities and work.

Dr. Hale had worked as an orthopaedic surgeon with another medical group in northern Colorado since 2011.

He and his family had moved here from Florida, where he completed a fellowship training program as an orthopaedic trauma surgeon at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute-Tampa General Hospital from 2010-11.

During his fellowship, Dr. Hale took care of patients in emergency situations, with fractures and severe injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents, for example.

Fellowships provide an additional, sixth year of specialized training for orthopaedic surgeons following completion of their residency program. The additional training gives physicians the opportunity to develop in-depth expertise.

Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Hale completed his five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN (2005-10).

He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine (2005).

A native of Montana, Dr. Hale earned his bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA (1998).

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hale enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin and their two children. His other outside interests include enjoying the outdoors.

The Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies and its 29 doctors provide patients with specialized orthopaedic, spine, sports medicine, concussion, and podiatry care. The practice, founded in 1969, has offices in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley, CO.
