Merrill Corporation’s Lou Rohman Appointed Vice Chairman of XBRL US Data Quality Committee

ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Merrill Corporation (www.merrillcorp.com), a global provider of secure content sharing, regulated communications and disclosure services, announced Lou Rohman, Vice President, XBRL Services at Merrill, has been appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the XBRL US Data Quality Committee. His appointment is effective immediately. He has served on the XBRL US Data Quality Committee since its formation in 2015.

“It’s a privilege to take a strengthened leadership role with XBRL US,” said Rohman. “We continue to see XBRL use evolve and expand within the SEC. And, for filers, the trend toward more widespread use of XBRL places even greater importance on the need to ensure accuracy so their reported financial statements are properly analyzed and understood by regulators and investors. Merrill taking a more visible and prominent role is further tangible demonstration of our data quality leadership in helping filers and the industry achieve the highest quality of XBRL submissions.”

The Data Quality Committee of XBRL US is responsible for developing guidance and validation rules that can prevent or detect inconsistencies or errors in XBRL data filed with the SEC. The Committee focuses on resolving data quality issues that adversely affect market consumption of XBRL data.

Lou provides XBRL leadership and subject matter expertise to a wide range of client companies, working closely with individuals to enhance their understanding of XBRL and to provide the guidance needed to successfully produce, implement, and confidently move forward with XBRL, with data quality being a critical focus. He is currently a member of both the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s US-GAAP Taxonomy Advisory Group and the IFRS Foundation’s IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group. He also has been an active participant on the US-GAAP taxonomy project team of XBRL US.
