SWIIM System Announces Expanded Operations in California’s Imperial and Central Valleys

DENVER--()--SWIIM System announced that it is deploying its SWIIM® Certification package on thousands of acres in California in key pressure-point areas, on the heels of its recently-announced $3 million Series A round led by Australian-based agricultural productivity investor goFARM Australia with the assistance of AgFunder.

Since closing, the company has expanded operations within California and has completed its most recent round of deployments in the Imperial Valley - on the southern-end of California. This month, the company will expand into the Central Valley with its patented process co-developed with the help of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and various western universities.

“We still look to expand further north into California and may take advantage of newly identified opportunities in Arizona still this year,” says Ed Warner, Chairman of SWIIM.

SWIIM is designed to help growers plan and monitor crop-water budgets with greater accuracy and provides producer-specific data that may then be aggregated for water managers on a system-wide basis. The company effectively acts as the grower’s on-farm water accountant and advisor, providing planning tools and actual water use data to each grower with aggregated data available to their water manager. This is all accomplished with the goal of attaining incentives for those that are maximizing their on-farm water use.

“Growers have access to financial experts and agronomic experts – now they can have an on-farm water conservation expert,” says Kevin France, CEO of SWIIM. France says that the toolset is custom-made to help water districts manage scarce water resources and provides a platform to incentivize good stewardship of their resources.

“With pressure continuing to mount and a call from stakeholders at all levels to optimize water use, a rarely-viewed area of conservation is right in front of us - maximization, conservation and quantification of such savings from on-farm water allotments,” says David Cohen, SWIIM’s CFO/COO. SWIIM offers a comprehensive water management system for grower with customized, regularly-updated data for each region in which it operates.

SWIIM is designed to enable growers to get a complete picture of the water used by their crops, not just focusing on one specific aspect like irrigation efficiency or soil moisture. This holistic approach enables growers to be more efficient in their water use and to conserve it with incentives included.
