Granite Applauds FCC on Business Data Services Vote

FCC vote recognizes that businesses need competitive communications choices

QUINCY, Mass.--()--Granite Telecommunications, LLC, a supplier of voice, data, networking, and other communications services to multisite businesses, today announced its strong support of the Federal Communications Commission’s vote today to jumpstart the process of protecting and advancing competition in the market for business data services.

Granite CEO Rob Hale stated, “Through Chairman Wheeler’s leadership on this important issue, the FCC has taken a significant step to promote competition with a technology-neutral competitive framework. This is good news for businesses. We applaud the FCC’s efforts in this area.”

High-speed data services are being used by businesses on an increasing basis. With today’s vote, the FCC rejected non-competitive tariff provisions of incumbent carriers which stifle competition for these services and began its update of outdated rules. Granite looks forward to continuing its work with the FCC on these issues.
