MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Internet of Things World, the world’s largest and most comprehensive Internet of Things (IoT) event, today announced Project Kairos, the startup program at the 2016 conference which will include Startup Academy, Startup City and the Innovation of Things Award competition. The Project Kairos programs will take place across all three days of the conference and are targeted at the top startups driving innovation in the IoT and Apps Market.
Startup City is the dedicated exhibition floor for startups that will be open May 11- 12 and include startups such as Infiswift, Droplit.io, Beacons in Space, Remocam and Mode. The floor will include two pitching stages where all participating startups will have the opportunity to pitch their company, by vertical, to a panel of judges for a chance to win the Innovation of Things Award. The verticals include wearable technology, enterprise, virtual reality, connected healthcare, smart cities, IoT security, connected cars, AI and machine learning. The best startup from each vertical will be entered into the final pitch round for the overall Innovation of Things Award, which will be announced on May 12. The winner will be named Most Valuable Startup of 2016 and will be awarded a trip to a sister event in Europe to further showcase the company’s successes and innovations. The winning startup can choose from the upcoming sister events: Apps World Europe and Internet of Things World Europe.
As part of Project Kairos, participating startups will also have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the top investors from over 100 leading investment firms including Spark Capital, Cisco Ventures, Verizon Ventures, SVG Partners, BMW i-Ventures and more. Additionally, the industry experts will lead interactive workshops on topics such as pitching investors, fundraising, and acquisition strategies.
