Bonitasoft Fuses BPM and DevOps with Continuous Integration

BPM leader affirms commitment to digital transformation

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Bonitasoft recently publicly affirmed its commitment to supporting digital transformation of business with its award-winning application platform.

Bonitasoft founder Charles Souillard headed Bonitasoft’s 2015 initiative to deliver Bonita BPM 7, to support high demand, short development cycles and associated constraints through a decoupled architecture. In April 2016, he revealed to the innovators at bpmNEXT a fresh look at a set of tools to help DevOps automate and scale their applications via Continuous Integration.

bpmNEXT is the definitive showcase for the next generation of Business Process Management software. In his address to the innovators, Souillard fused BPM and software industry standards, emphasizing that there is no need for BPM to “reinvent the wheel.” “A business process can be viewed as a complex algorithm with different execution paths,” he pointed out. “This makes it perfectly adapted to automated testing as already practiced by DevOps.”

One of the “power tools” of DevOps is Continuous Integration, which Souillard demonstrated with an example of an of e-commerce order management application.

“With the help of cutting edge technologies such as Docker, we can greatly reduce the pain and cost of setting up continuous integration and test platforms,” said Charles Souillard. “We empower DevOps by letting them focus on mission-critical tasks while building and testing confidently over time.”

Jim Sinur, a former Gartner analyst and now an independent thought leader in applying business process management to innovative and intelligent business operations, has commented on Bonita BPM’s strengths as a digital business platform. “Bonitasoft’s Bonita BPM, as a digital business platform (DBP), brings capabilities that allow for experimentation and incremental development of digital capabilities quickly while leveraging instant feedback on the resulting living digital system,” he said. “The power here is that Bonita BPM empowers incremental approaches because it can be modified quickly even in production and leverages power testing that allows for speedy iterations. This is ideal for digital experimentation and rapid development. As business needs and requirements arise the resulting applications, user interfaces and processes can change with great agility and speed.”

Vance McCarthy, Editor of Integration Developer News, has noted the role of front-end enablement in escalating digital transformation efforts. “I see Bonitasoft as a pebble in a pond, with this whole innovative cycle happening. Other vendors are making the pivot to BPM-as-app. We’re seeing a whole new wave of developers, and front-end developers, who are now engaged with our BPM-CON conference.”
