QM Power Announces New Corporate Kansas City Headquarters

Triples Square Footage to Accommodate Company’s Growth as Demand for its Ultra-Efficient Q-Sync Motor Technology Accelerates

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--()--QM Power, maker of an innovative new high-efficiency motor technology, today announced it has moved its headquarters from Lee’s Summit to Kansas City, Mo. to accommodate the company’s rapid growth. QM Power’s new headquarters is more than triple the square footage of the company’s previous office space, and allows for significant expansion as demand for its Q-Sync Smart Synchronous Motor accelerates.

“Since our Q-Sync launch in September 2015, we’ve gained a lot of traction in refrigeration with large retailers, supermarket chains and OEMs,” said PJ Piper, co-founder, president and CEO of QM Power. “Our new headquarters will accommodate our rapid growth as we increase production of our Q-Sync Motor for commercial refrigeration and develop additional product lines based on our proprietary Q-Sync technology.”

QM Power currently employs 28 people and plans to expand its workforce by more than 40% by the year’s end.

Launched in September 2015, the QM Power Q-Sync Smart Synchronous Motor is a new class of energy-efficient motors that shatters the industry’s standard in fan-motor performance and reduces energy consumption up to 80%. Q-Sync improves the efficiency, power quality and reliability of fan motors and provides end users, contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and utilities with significant new energy-saving opportunities at the same cost as legacy fan motors.

“Electric motors are everywhere in commercial buildings and can consume up to seventy percent of all the energy used,” explained Piper. “Just as we had anticipated, the market is embracing the Q-Sync Smart Synchronous Motor as one of the most significant innovations to motor technology in more than 50 years, due to its high energy savings and ROI. We are providing businesses, utilities, and OEMs with access to the most efficient commercial refrigeration motor in history -- a seventy-five percent efficient motor -- for the same cost as an ECM.”

Recognizing its significant potential for energy savings, the Department of Energy (DOE) has named Q-Sync a High-Impact Technology. As such, DOE is working with QM Power, OEMs, supermarkets, service and retrofit contractors, and utilities to install and demonstrate more than 10,000 higher efficiency Q-Sync fan assemblies in over 50 grocery sites throughout the US. The results of the first DOE demonstrations have been documented by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and reveal a broader upgrade of the Q-Sync fan motors (beyond commercial refrigeration) could reduce source energy consumption by as much as 300 billion kilowatt-hours or more, with proportional environmental benefits.
