American Red Cross to Implement the Language of Caring Nationwide!

WASHINGTON--()--On March 15, 2016 the American Red Cross announced its decision to implement the Language of Caring for Staff program nationwide. Language of Caring’s powerful, evidence-based program will help approximately 7,500 Red Cross blood collections professionals improve the quality of their communication with donors, volunteers and each other.

Says Language of Caring Partner Dorothy Sisneros, “We are thrilled and honored to be working with the Red Cross. They are a remarkable, far-reaching organization whose caring people help to save lives every day.”

The Red Cross is dedicated to continuously improving the blood donation experience of our valued volunteer donors across the country,” said Paul Sullivan, vice president of collections in the Biomedical Services division of the Red Cross. “We look forward to implementing this new training for our staff in 2016.”

The Red Cross is one of the most well-known and important humanitarian organizations in this country. As the nation’s largest supplier of blood products, the Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood and platelet donations every day for patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country.

Thousands of incredible Red Cross employees and volunteers are clearly dedicated to serving their communities. By training them in the Language of Caring, they will be able to build on their ability to show their caring and appreciation to blood donors, hospitals and patients that depend on them for life-saving blood and blood products.
