Journal of Structured Finance Appoints New Editor

Institutional Investor Journals hires finance veteran Mark Adelson

NEW YORK--()--Institutional Investor Journals, the leading publisher of practical research in investment management and finance, today announced the appointment of Mark Adelson as the new editor of the Journal of Structured Finance. Adelson is replacing Henry “Hal” Davis who is stepping down after serving as the editor for 19 years. Adelson was previously a member of the Journal’s Advisory Board and has authored several papers. Mark currently works at The BondFactor Company, where he serves as Chief Strategy Officer. Adelson will oversee editorial duties for one of IIJ’s leading publications.

Adelson brings with him extensive and diverse financial background. Before The BondFactor Company, Adelson served as Managing Director at Standard & Poor’s for three years. During his time at S&P, Adelson oversaw extensive overhauls of the analytic methodologies for various sectors including:

  • Mortgage-backed securities
  • Collateralized debt obligations
  • Banks
  • Bonds
  • Sovereign governments
  • Derivative counterparty exposures

A graduate of Princeton University and the University of Michigan Law School, Adelson has spent over 25 years in financial services, much of that time focused specifically on structured finance. Over the last ten years, Adelson has published various research articles in the Journal of Structured Finance, as well as other IIJ publications.

The Journal of Structured Finance prides itself on publishing leading research papers on various aspects of structured finance like syndicated loans and collateralized debt obligations from thought leaders in the structured finance sector. Adelson’s experience as both a Journal of Structured Finance author as well as an industry expert position him strongly to lead the publication forward.
