CLSA Americas Announces New Hires in US Equity Research And Trading

- Firm also announces the launch of new Equity Derivatives Business -

NEW YORK--()--CLSA Americas, the North American affiliate of Asia's leading independent brokerage and investment group CLSA, is pleased to announce the addition of four new hires in research, trading and salestrading within its institutional equity division, as well as the launch of an equity options trading desk in the first quarter of 2016.

Asit Sen joins CLSA Americas as a research analyst, covering US/European Major Oil companies and large cap E&P stocks. He was most recently with Cowen & Company where he followed integrated oil stocks and domestic/international E&Ps. Prior to Cowan, Mr. Sen was with Madison Williams, RNK Capital (a long/short global energy and Clean Tech private equity fund) and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Sen holds a BS in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and an MBA in finance from Baruch College, the City University of New York.

Rolf Edelman joins CLSA Americas as a salestrader and will be based in New York. He was most recently with Needham and Company as a high touch sales trader covering long/short and long-only accounts, along with event-driven/merger arbitrage funds with a focus on TMT, Consumer and Retail, and Healthcare. Mr. Edelman holds a BA in Management from Brown University.

Jared Simon joins CLSA Americas as a trader and will be based in New York. He was most recently with Point72 Asset Management, where he was a Senior Trader, focused primarily on the Industrial, Materials and Energy sectors. He also served as a trading assistant and trading clerk at Point72. Mr. Simon holds a BA in Business Administration and Management from Skidmore College.

Greg Henry joins CLSA Americas as a trader on the electronic trading team and will be based in New York. He was most recently with Societe General as the Deputy Head of Sales within the Global Execution Division. There he oversaw the direct sales and relationship management effort for the technology based global cross asset execution business, targeting North American based institutions and broker dealers. Prior to Societe General, he held senior positions at UBS and Liquidnet. Mr. Henry holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham University and a BA in Business Management from North Carolina State.

Dan Bystrom joins CLSA Americas as Head of the newly launched Equity Derivatives business and will be based in New York. Starting in early 2016, Dan and his team will create options-based strategies for clients to more efficiently implement market exposure. The team will leverage its volatility expertise to consult with clients on risk management and portfolio construction and can source liquidity to reduce trading costs. Prior to CLSA, Dan was Chief Investment Officer at Hawksfield Capital and Portfolio Manager at AM Investment Partners, both volatility-arbitrage hedge funds. Dan also served in senior positions in equity derivatives at Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas and MF Global. He holds a BA from Northwestern University.
