NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke to Open C Space Keynote at CES 2016

MediaLink's Michael Kassan to interview Burke on rapidly evolving media and marketing landscape

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) - formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® – today announced that NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke will serve as the C Space keynoter at CES®2016. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association, CES will run from January 6- 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. Since 2009, MediaLink has partnered with the Consumer Technology Association to program and produce content for this community.

The C Space Keynote, presented by MediaLink, is slated for 2 PM Thursday, January 7 at the Westgate Theater, and will include an exclusive interview with Burke moderated by Michael E. Kassan, chairman and CEO of MediaLink, immediately followed by a panel discussion moderated by Wenda Harris Millard with top media and marketing leaders.

The session will explore the intersection of devices, the content that lies beneath, within or over-the-top of these devices and the one inevitable truth that remains: pipes need content and content needs pipes. Today, the best pipes are those that exceed viewers’ changing attitudes and expectations and give them what they want, when they want it, on the devices they want it on.

“This is the year for content at CES and we are thrilled to welcome visionary leader Steve Burke to the CES stage to share his insights on the synergies that exist between technology and content and how the media and advertising industries are transforming to deliver superior products and services,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. “From increased interaction to the ability to deliver precisely targeted messages across platforms, our C Space Keynote will explore how companies are embracing new ways to reach audiences.”

Burke is CEO of NBCUniversal, one of the world's leading media enterprises. In this role, Burke oversees the company’s valuable portfolio of news, sports and entertainment networks, a premier motion picture company, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks. Steve assumed this role in January 2011, upon the closing of Comcast and General Electric’s joint venture merging the assets of NBCUniversal with Comcast’s programming assets.

Michael E. Kassan is chairman and CEO of MediaLink, the leading strategic advisory firm serving companies at the convergence of media, marketing, technology and entertainment. Bringing these groups together while balancing strategic insight with pragmatic execution, MediaLink guides its clients through an increasingly fragmented media landscape. Kassan has led the firm’s expansion from strategic advisory into multiple business lines including executive search, financial due diligence, agency benchmarking/reviews, and trade marketing.

C Space is the CES experience for creative communicators, brand marketers, advertising agencies, digital publishers and social networks. It tells the story of how content, creativity, technology and influencers come together to discover new ways to elevate their industry, business and brand.

Additional details about the panelists for the C Space Keynote will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, visit CES keynotes at CESweb.org.
