Lamar University takes advantage of early release

FAIRFAX, Va.--()--Ellucian, the leading global provider of higher education software and services, today announced the new release of Banner® Human Resources, the next generation of its comprehensive human resources, payroll, and position control solution that helps institutions support every aspect of the employee lifecycle. Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, is a development partner and has plans to go live in 2016 on the new version of Banner HR, which benefits from Ellucian’s Extensible Ecosystem (XE).

In higher education, faculty and staff are imperative to both institutional and student success. Banner® Human Resources by Ellucian is designed to provide higher education institutions with a rich and flexible toolset that results in a high-performing workforce. By using technology to help manage faculty and payroll, recruit the best talent, and deliver necessary services, institutions can guarantee resources to promote employee satisfaction and success.

“Ellucian is on a mission to truly delight customers with a modern user interface and navigational enhancements while maintaining a level of familiarity with Banner that customers trust and rely on,” said Jeff Ray, CEO of Ellucian. “Banner HR is now more intuitive than ever. It gives colleges and universities the flexibility to create unique toolsets so that their employees can be more productive and focus on what really matters: student success. Lamar University understands how employee success maps to student success and is a leader in using technology to bridge that gap.”

Banner HR 9.0, driven by the Ellucian XE strategy, includes an updated user interface, improved accessibility and enhanced versions of existing functionality. With easier deployments, a branding application, seamless navigation between current Banner versions, and new tools that reduce the need to modify source code, institutions are empowered to manage their employees—a critical asset to delivering on the institution mission.

“Ellucian has been a strategic partner offering support throughout the whole implementation process, and we’ve already seen great strides, such as a modernized user interface, improved accessibility and better navigation. Our Human Resources team was excited about the new changes and were happy to give great insight to make it the best solution possible,” said Vesna Sarafov, Manager of Database and Development Services at Lamar University. “I believe that Banner is the most complete product with the richest functionality for any university at this time.”
