Wisegate Shows How To Align Security and Business Strategy at Dallas SecureWorld

71 percent of security leaders lack a mature security strategy

DALLAS--()--Wisegate, a private, crowdsourced information technology (IT) research service for senior IT and security professionals, will share best practices on creating and executing a formal security strategy at Dallas SecureWorld, a cybersecurity conference taking place tomorrow and Thursday in the Plano Centre.

A recent survey of information security leaders indicated 71 percent did not have a mature security strategy in place. A documented security plan gives companies an overview of their security posture and helps align security with business. Sourced from Wisegate’s senior IT member base, VP of Product Strategy Naresh Persaud will present real-world tips and resources to show IT professionals how to create and execute a formal security strategy for their companies.

“Many IT professionals come to Wisegate seeking answers to these types of problems, and we find that it’s common for companies to lack a formal security strategy—these IT professionals aren’t alone in their concern,” said Persaud. “Thanks to our members and their collaboration, we have a valuable tool for the industry and Dallas SecureWorld provides an exciting opportunity to share these tools with other professionals experiencing similar challenges.”

Wisegate’s session, “Developing an IT Security Strategy,” takes place October 28th at 8:30 a.m. More information can be found here. Dallas SecureWorld is a cybersecurity conference that provides education, training and networking for cybersecurity professionals. Dallas SecureWorld will be comprised of more than 60 educational elements, four keynote speakers, and industry expert panels.
