FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), the premier public-private partnership dedicated to improving government through the application of information technology, today announced the 19th graduation class of its Partners Program. The government IT community’s flagship executive development program selectively pairs 16 government leaders with 16 industry professionals to collectively engage, develop and prepare for future roles at the senior executive service (SES) and corporate executive officer levels. The graduation ceremony took place during ACT-IAC’s 2015 Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) today in Williamsburg, Va.
"The Partners Program offers a trusted, open and collaborative environment that promotes quality interactions among government and industry participants," said Sundar Vaidyanathan, 2015 Partners Program industry chair. “It also provides an unprecedented opportunity for them to develop long-term professional relationships, and prepared them to embrace increasing levels of responsibility (SES or equivalent) in their careers."
One of ACT-IAC’s many professional development initiatives, the Partnership Program is highly competitive and open to G-15 level or equivalent executives. Participants are nominated by their company or agency and selected for the program by a panel of senior executives, from government and industry, based on their individual professional leadership accomplishments and potential for future advancement within their organizations. It enables participants to walk in their counterparts’ shoes to gain a greater understanding of management roles and responsibilities.
“ACT-IAC’s Partners Program brings together cohorts from industry and government to learn from each other, allowing them to gain a perspective for handling 21st century workplace challenges,” said Vaughn Noga, 2015 Partners Program government chair. “This shared experience provides a foundation for each partner to build upon – helping him or her to better relate and collaborate more effectively.”
ACT-IAC professional development addresses the needs of IT professionals throughout their careers, from entry level to SES and C-Suite: Champions Program for SES and senior executives; Voyagers Program for GS-11/13 and equivalent level professionals; and Associates Program for professionals with less than five years of career experience.
