Dr. Betty Vandenbosch Named President of Kaplan University

CHICAGO--()--Kaplan University’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dr. Betty Vandenbosch has been appointed President of Kaplan University (KU).

“Betty has done an outstanding job driving many of the recent initiatives and innovations at Kaplan University that form the foundation for KU’s bright future. This includes leading KU’s successful multi-staged approach to a competency-based education model and designing an outcomes-based curriculum. Throughout, Betty has been a tireless champion of faculty development and improving student support,” said Kay K. Runge, Chairperson of Kaplan University’s Board of Trustees.

Dr. Vandenbosch has been with Kaplan University since 2008, serving in a number of leadership roles including Vice President of KU’s School of Business and Information Technology and KU’s Dean of Students. In January 2013, Dr. Vandenbosch was promoted to Provost. Dr. Vandenbosch came to KU from Case Western Reserve University, where she served as the Associate Dean of Executive Education and External Relations at the Weatherhead School of Management. She earned her PhD in Management and Information Systems from Ivey Business School at Western University in London, Ontario.

Dr. Vandenbosch succeeds Dr. Wade Dyke, who has served as Kaplan University President since 2009. Dr. Dyke is taking on a new senior position within Kaplan Higher and Professional Education. “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Wade for his leadership over the past six years. He guided KU into a new environment for higher education, and his commitment to student success is second-to-none. He leaves a strong legacy for Betty and KU to build upon,” added Runge.
