HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Changing Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:CHGT) is looking to dish up 3D confectionary items using sugar as the primary printing material. The line would feature original CHGT handiworks, to be offered at coffee shops and cafes, and would provide a way for clients to order their own unique creations, all produced in fully edible sugar.
“This unique line shows the variety, creativity and diversity CHGT can offer,” said CEO Marco Valenzuela. “We’ve moved far beyond prototyping of machine parts and entered an exciting new realm of additive manufacturing. Virtually any shape imaginable is possible. We can print flowers, sculptures, bracelet charms, wedding bands and more, all made in fully edible, sweet sugar. We plan to sell these to cafes and coffee shops, and take custom orders. This should be a sweet deal for our customers and a solid revenue producer.”
The first 3D printers capable of printing edible items debuted in early 2014. As the process enters the mainstream, a global 3D food printing conference is in the works and now Hershey’s and even NASA are exploring the possibilities of additive food manufacturing. A German nursing home has been serving 3D printed food to residents.
