OurCrowd, the World's-leading Equity Crowdfunding Platform, launches an investment in “Revolution Credit”, together with Locust Walk – The Largest Student-Run Impact-Investing Platform in the World

JERUSALEM--()--OurCrowd, the world’s leading equity crowdfunding platform, in collaboration with Locust Walk Partners, launches a $500K investment round in Revolution Credit, winner of the 2015 Wharton Social Venture Fellows (WSVF) Impact Investing competition. Revolution Credit is an advanced engagement platform and database of unique consumer behavioral data that transforms the credit decision-making process for both lenders and consumers.

Revolution Credit was hand-picked from over 250 projects in six social impact market segments. OurCrowd will harness the power of the crowd to raise $500K on the company’s global crowdfunding platform with over 8,000 accredited investors.

The Wharton Social Venture Fellows program offers a unique experience for students to discover and innovate impact investing by selecting and reviewing investments that will change the world.

“This is a new wave in social impact investing and one more step in the democratization of tech funding, with students getting in on the private equity game,” said OurCrowd CEO Jon Medved. “OurCrowd looks forward to delivering real world experience to the future generations of business leaders. We’re helping teach them to do well by doing good.”

“The cooperation between WSVF, Locust Walk and OurCrowd allows us to provide significant funding to the most promising social impact projects,” said OurCrowd General Partner and CTO Gadi Mazor, who spearheaded the collaboration. “We’re looking forward to funding more high-impact investments along with these amazing students as part of this initiative in the near future. “

This is a great day for WSVF,” said WSII Senior Director Jacob Gray, who oversees the Wharton Social Venture Fellows Program. “Our students are our future business leaders and we couldn’t be more proud of the work they’ve done in partnership with OurCrowd, and the experience they’re gaining with the ‘next big things’ in financing — crowdfunding and impact investing.”

About Wharton Social Impact Initiative:

Wharton Social Impact Initiative (WSII) is the hub for social impact activities, information, and resources at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The initiative supports students, faculty, and a vast alumni network in the drive to use business knowledge and practices to solve enduring social problems. A major component is WSII’s multifaceted impact investing program, designed to launch student careers, conduct leading research, and educate the broader community on this powerful sector.

WSII also houses The Wharton Social Venture Fellows (WSVF), a student-led organization that sources and conducts diligence on early and expansion-stage companies with venture-grade growth potential and intentional, measurable social impact. The WSVF looks to: (a) Identify and promote early stage companies that create positive social or environmental impact; and (b) prepare students to become leaders in the impact investment community, where sound investment principles are applied to complex social and environmental problems. The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania does not provide any endorsement, either implied or explicit, in companies that participate with WSVF, Locust Walk Impact Partners, or OurCrowd. Neither the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School, nor student members of the Wharton Social Venture Fellows are investors in participating companies. Companies run by current students of the University of Pennsylvania are not eligible for review by WSVF.
