Microsoft’s T.K ‘Ranga’ Rengarajan, David DeWitt, Rimma Nehme and Hackbright Academy’s Angie Chang to Keynote PASS Summit 2015

CHICAGO--()--PASS Summit 2015, the world’s most popular SQL Server and Business Intelligence training event for the data community, will deliver its biggest ever lineup of professional development opportunities, with over 240 technical sessions, 18 pre-conference seminars, and over 70 hours of networking with MVPs, experts and peers.

Microsoft Corporation’s T.K 'Ranga' Rengarajan, Corporate Vice President - Data Platform, Cloud & Enterprise, will open PASS Summit 2015 with the keynote, “Accelerating your Business with a Modern Data Strategy,” which will focus on how data professionals can use the next-generation SQL Server to maximize data platforms and manage data to better predict outcomes.

Microsoft Keynote presenters David DeWitt, Technical Fellow, and Rimma Nehme, Principal Research Engineer, both of Microsoft Jim Gray Systems Lab, will open day two with their session, “Data Management for Internet of Things.”

A computer sciences professor and world leader in database research, David will share his wealth of technical knowledge and valuable insights on this very current topic. Co-presenter Rimma is known for her work on PolyBase, which integrates SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW) with Hadoop, as well as the SQL Server PDW query optimizer, an automated partitioning advisor for parallel database systems.

“Building on topics from previous keynotes, this year we will focus on the who, what, why and how of data management for the Internet of Things (IoT), which we believe will play a crucial role in effective IoT operations and adoption moving forward,” David and Rimma said of their joint keynote.

Guests of the popular Women in Technology Luncheon will enjoy an inspiring session from Angie Chang, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, Hackbright Academy. Hackbright Academy is the leading engineering school for women with a mission to increase female representation in tech through education, mentorship and community. The Women in Technology Luncheon is proudly sponsored by SQL Sentry.

“Over the last 25 years, there has been a big reduction in the number of women working in computer sciences. I will address how we’ve been working to reduce that gender gap, empower women to take a more active role in their career development, and encourage them to become technology creators through education, mentorship and community,” Angie said.

PASS Summit 2015 will bring over 5000 data professionals together in Seattle from October 27–30, 2015. For full details and to register, visit http://www.sqlpass.org/summit/2015.
