Cambridge's Ignite 2015 Conference Hosts over 1,800 Attendees in Washington, D.C.

Cambridge advisors, staff, and conference sponsors donate over $64,000 to Warrior 360

FAIRFIELD, Iowa--()--Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. (Cambridge) hosted its annual national conference in Washington D.C. August 19-22, with over 1,800 attendees. Each year, a local charity – based in the city where Cambridge Ignite is hosted – is selected as a way for Cambridge Ignite attendees to give thanks to that local community. In closing Cambridge Ignite 2015, over $64,000 was donated to Warrior 360, a Washington D.C. based non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to the U.S. military and their families.

“It’s an honor to partner with an organization that serves and protects our nation’s heroes whose service has placed the welfare of others before their own,” said Jeff Vivacqua Senior Vice President, Marketing. “We give this gift as a reflection of appreciation to Warrior 360, as well as all our advisors, associates, and sponsors for their meaningful and heartfelt support.”

Vivacqua also noted fundraising events during Cambridge Ignite which included a silent auction and a 5K Fun Run/Walk led by representatives from Warrior 360 carrying bricks reflecting personal messages in honor of individuals serving in the military. Warrior 360 is a Virginia-based nonprofit organized to support the needs and promote the welfare of our nation's heroes and their families. Those interested in learning more about Warrior 360 can follow them on Facebook or see their website at ‘Warrior360.org’ for more information.

Since 2009, Cambridge Ignite has focused on selecting a qualified charity in the location of its national conference for special support related to the firm’s national conference for its advisors. Charities are selected based on nominations by advisors with a focus on non-profits reflecting similar core values of integrity, commitment, flexibility, and kindness. Cambridge also prefers to focus on charities with needs that will be most positively impacted by the funds raised in connection with Cambridge Ignite. Last year during Cambridge Ignite 2014, advisors, staff, and conference sponsors donated over $50,000 to Glenwood Academy, a Chicago-based academy for at-risk children.

Cambridge Ignite is the annual conference for independent advisors hosted by their independent broker-dealer, Cambridge. Cambridge Ignite 2015 hosted over 1,800 advisors and their guests, staff, and sponsors in Washington D.C. at the Marriott Marquis and Renaissance hotels. A highly popular networking event for advisors and their peers, informative, thought-provoking sessions included nationally recognized speakers such as Steve Forbes of Forbes Media, Cam Marston a leading expert on generational dynamics, Robyn Benincasa a global adventure racer and CNN Hero, and veteran journalists and political commentators Tucker Carlson from FOX, and Paul Begala from CNN. The gala reception for Cambridge Ignite 2015 was held at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

“We enjoyed our time together and wish safe travels to everyone as we close the books on Cambridge Ignite 2015 in Washington D.C.,” said Vivacqua. “And now we begin detailing plans for Cambridge Ignite 2016 in Chicago, and the many other events we host for advisors across the country and throughout the calendar year.”
