SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Shuddle, the first rideshare service designed to transport busy families, today announced the expansion of their executive leadership team with the addition of Carly Lutz, who will join as SVP of Family Experience, and Jaleh Bisharat, who will serve on the company’s Board of Directors. Lutz and Bisharat join Shuddle’s growing executive roster of experienced, professional, and passionate mothers, including Trae Vassalo, formerly of Kleiner Perkins, and Kirsten Green, Forerunner Ventures, who currently serve on Shuddle’s Board of Directors.

Jaleh joins Shuddle’s Board of Directors as an experienced executive and proud mother. Jaleh recently joined Eventbrite as the chief marketing officer, and brings a customer-centric approach and strong experience with two-sided marketplaces. Previously, she served as SVP of marketing at Upwork (formerly oDesk), and has also acted as Vice President of Marketing at companies including OpenTable, Jawbone, and Amazon.com. She also served on the board of directors at OpenTable and Homestead Technologies. Jaleh writes and speaks frequently about the future of work and women in the workplace, and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Jaleh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Harvard-Radcliffe and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Carly joins Shuddle as SVP of Family Experience, where she brings to the role more than a decade of experience in brand and product management and consumer marketing, in addition to being a mother of three. Most recently, Carly was a brand director at Clif Bar & Company, where she focused on special projects and was responsible for creating and implementing key strategies for company initiatives, including new product innovation, strategic partnerships, and new business development opportunities.

Passenger safety and security is the cornerstone of Shuddle’s service. Shuddle enforces a robust range of safety procedures to provide the safest experience possible for passengers. From fingerprinting for national, state and county background checks, GPS tracking, in-app ratings, Zendrive and live support to DMV checks and in-person vehicle checks, Shuddle’s safety standards are best-in-industry. Shuddle’s rigorous safety procedures include:
- Trusted drivers: Before a driver can get behind the wheel, Shuddle runs an extensive criminal background and DMV records check, conducts face-to-face interviews and checks two employer references through a third-party, and requires 100% of its drivers to be Trustline certified. After drivers are approved, Shuddle continually monitors insurance and license records.
- Kid-approved: Shuddle requires that all drivers have caregiving experience and use a third-party to conduct employer reference checks.
- Custom insurance for minors: Shuddle is the first rideshare service insured to transport kids. Shuddle’s coverage is dependent on regular, in-depth inspections of its safety procedures by the insurance agency.
- Safe vehicles: Driver vehicles must be 2008 or newer, have four doors and pass a strict 19-point inspection conducted by a Shuddle-approved mechanic.
Shuddle charges a monthly $9 membership, which is waived for first-time users for the first month, to support Shuddle’s best-in-industry safety program, ShuddleSafe, which includes custom insurance for transporting kids and the extensive background check process. Starting at a minimum of $8, all fares are based on distance, and an estimate is given when users schedule rides. Shuddle rides can be scheduled or last minute. Shuddle operates in 5 counties throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including Marin, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Alameda and Santa Clara counties.
