Design Workshop Wins Two Nevada Awards

STATELINE, Nev.--()--Success and recognition continue at Design Workshop, an international landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm with 10 offices and work spanning the globe. The recipient of last year’s American Society of Landscape Architects Nevada Chapter Project of the Year Award has already received two more awards in 2015.

The Washoe County Open Space and Regional Park Commission held their annual awards banquet this June. Design Workshop was honored to receive the Elmer H. Anderson Parks Excellence Award for the work they have done to make the Ballardini Ranch Trailhead project a success. The project team also included Wood Rodgers, Spanish Springs Construction and Angie Persigehl.

On top of winning the Elmer H. Anderson Parks Excellence Award they also received a Business and Professional Service Spotlight Award from Douglas County, Nevada. Design Workshop was nominated and selected based on the following criteria:

- Continuing to persevere during the economic downturn
- Being unique and marketable
- Being involved in the community and business community
- Investing in businesses
- Exhibiting the ability to partner with public and / or the nonprofit sector
- Having developed or refined their business plans
- Taking steps to provide employee training or growth opportunities
