World Future Society Hires Dr. Mark Drapeau to Relaunch 49-Year-Old Magazine The Futurist

WASHINGTON--()--The World Future Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mark Drapeau as interim Publisher and Executive Editor of The Futurist magazine and Vice President of Content, effective immediately.

Dr. Drapeau is a scientist, business strategist, and writer who brings with him years of experience across numerous industries and sectors.

  • He is currently a senior strategist with the New York-based strategy and design firm Sub Rosa.
  • Prior to that he held positions at Atlantic Media and Microsoft in which he designed content and other experiences to engage influential audiences.
  • Before moving to the private sector Dr. Drapeau was an analyst, futurist, and strategist at the U.S. Defense Department’s Center for Technology and National Security Policy.
  • He has a long track record as a writer and speaker on topics related to science, technology, innovation, and human behavior and culture.
  • Drapeau holds a Ph.D. and B.S in biology from the University of California-Irvine and the University of Rochester, respectively.
