UrbanStems Expands to Brooklyn

Popular on-demand flower delivery startup expands its service to the trendy New York City borough

NEW YORK--()--UrbanStems, the on-demand flower delivery service, announced it is expanding its delivery zone to include Brooklyn, New York starting today.

The company, which offers seasonal bouquets starting at $35 with free on-demand delivery, will begin delivering to select Brooklyn zip codes immediately and expand to include the rest of the borough in the coming months.

“We’re excited to be growing so quickly!” says co-founder Ajay Kori. “Brooklyn has been on our radar for quite some time, but we wanted to be sure we could provide the same unparalleled gifting experience that we currently deliver in our other cities.”

UrbanStems has already gained a strong following in Manhattan and Washington, DC since the company’s launch in February 2014.

“We’ve learned a lot about our customers in the past year and a half,” says co-founder Jeff Sheely. “After analyzing our user and marketing data, Brooklyn was a clear next step for us. Many of our customers live in the borough, and there really isn’t a service like this available in Brooklyn yet.”

Unlike traditional floral delivery companies, UrbanStems is focused on creating a high-end gifting experience that’s fun, affordable and effortless. The company designs all of its bouquets in-house and rotates them monthly, offering only a few at a time to keep things simple and ensure a delightful experience for both recipients and senders. Users can order bouquets and gifts through the UrbanStems website or iOS app.

About UrbanStems:

You can’t buy happiness, but you can send flowers, and that’s pretty much the same thing. That’s why UrbanStems, an on-demand flower delivery service, was created – to spread happiness by making gifting fun and easy. The company launched in Washington, DC on Valentine’s Day in 2014 to combat the typical industry blues: dead flowers, late arrivals, and crazy-high prices. In December 2014, UrbanStems expanded to Manhattan. In February 2015, UrbanStems raised $1.5 million in seed funding.
