GEICO names Frank Pickering assistant vice president of Midwest claims operation

MACON, Ga.--()--Frank Pickering has been named assistant vice president of claims for GEICO's Midwest region. Pickering previously served as auto damage director in GEICO's Fredericksburg, Va., regional office. He will begin his new assignment on June 27 at GEICO's regional office in Macon, Ga.

Pickering began his career at GEICO in 1998, as a sales agent in the company's San Diego regional office after serving eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 2000, he transitioned to GEICO's Fredericksburg location after being named sales supervisor.

In 2003, Pickering was selected to supervise sales at GEICO's new regional office in Tucson, Ariz. Later that year, he joined GEICO's staff development department at the company's corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md., where he specialized in management training and development.

Pickering entered GEICO's Supervisory Leadership Program in 2006, serving in a number of rotational positions and field assignments including drive-in claims offices and Auto RX facilities. In 2008, he was promoted to auto damage field supervisor in GEICO's Virginia Beach, Va., regional office.

In 2011, he returned to the Fredericksburg office to serve as auto damage manager prior to becoming the region's auto damage director in 2013. Pickering graduated from National University in San Diego with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He succeeded Sue Worthen who retired in June.
