Manatee Glens Joins Centerstone

Affiliation between nonprofit behavioral healthcare providers is finalized

The new combined national organization now serves more than 142,000 people of all ages

BRADENTON, Fla. & NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--Centerstone and Manatee Glens have joined forces, finalizing an affiliation that combines their operations and expertise to advance the delivery of mental health and addiction treatment. The affiliation was unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both organizations and is effective today.

“We are delighted to welcome Manatee Glens to the Centerstone family,” said David C. Guth, Jr., CEO of Centerstone. “Our organizations have a great deal in common including a dedication to providing quality behavioral healthcare at the community level as well as advancing best practices in mental health and addictions treatment. Together, we have great opportunities to grow in the evolving healthcare landscape and transform the lives of more people in Florida and across the nation.”

As part of the final affiliation agreement, Manatee Glens will change its name to Centerstone of Florida, a change that will visibly take place this September with an official ribbon cutting for the installation of new Centerstone signage. Mary Ruiz, president and CEO of Manatee Glens, will continue to serve as the CEO of the Florida organization, which will have its assets preserved as a local nonprofit organization with a local board of governance. Ruiz will also take on a role for Centerstone nationally as Chief Strategy Officer.

“This is an exciting day for Manatee Glens, our staff, patients and communities,” said Ruiz. “As part of Centerstone, we will be well positioned to continue providing the highest levels of care and support to our community, while also contributing to efforts to advance the field of behavioral healthcare. We look forward to all the future holds.”
