Through Apria Healthcare's "Hiring Our Heroes" initiative, we welcome and invite veterans to join our ranks — men and women who can contribute to one of America's leading home healthcare providers. Apria needs people who are ingrained with qualities like loyalty, commitment, and perseverance. These are the same qualities that veterans demonstrate while in service to our country and which will make Apria proud to have more veterans on our team. www.apria.com

LAKE FOREST, Calif.--()--Apria Healthcare Group Inc. (Apria), one of the nation’s leading providers of home healthcare medical equipment and related services, is pleased to announce its ongoing commitment to veterans and reservists through an outreach initiative called “Hiring Our Heroes.” Launched in 2014, the purpose of this initiative is to support those who have served our country by offering veterans the opportunity to make a successful transition to civilian life through employment with Apria. By focusing employment outreach and recruitment programs to attract veterans, Apria hopes to bring to its ranks men and women ingrained with qualities that align with Apria’s values, like leadership and a commitment to service excellence and teamwork, to help maintain and improve the quality of life for company’s patients.

“At Apria Healthcare, we want to honor our veterans each and every day,” said John G. Figueroa, chairman of Apria’s board of directors and a veteran. “We are proud to welcome veterans to Apria where they can bring their unique skills and experience to serve our patients and strengthen our company.”

To reach veterans, Apria has partnered with Direct Employers Group to launch a Military Occupation Code translator on Apria’s career page where transitioning service members can match their military skills and experience with available positions within the company. The company has also teamed up with several military groups on Apria’s LinkedIn page to expand the ability of Apria’s Talent Acquisition team to network with veterans. Additionally, Apria offers a special employee referral program to expand the workforce with veterans and places a strong emphasis on veteran recruitment at job events nationwide. Members of Apria’s Talent Acquisition team participated in a national conference titled, “Welcome Home Soldier: Strategies for Hiring Veterans.” Apria currently employs 375 veterans and hopes to increase that number significantly in 2015. Apria is an affiliate of Blackstone (NYSE:BX), and “Hiring Our Heroes” is a part of Blackstone’s commitment to hire over 50,000 veterans over a period of five years.
