Shippable Announces Collaboration With Red Hat

Shippable partners with Red Hat to bring native CI/CD to Red Hat’s Openshift Enterprise 3 platform

SEATTLE--()--Shippable, Inc. today announced that it has formed a new collaboration with Red Hat, Inc. to provide the only continuous integration/continuous delivery solution to run natively on Red Hat’s OpenShift Enterprise 3 platform. Coinciding with the announcement, Shippable also announced the release and beta availability of the product, Shippable CI/CD for Openshift Enterprise 3.

Shippable is known in the DevOps industry for its Shippable CI/CD SaaS platform, the first such platform that runs natively on Docker containers instead of virtual machines. The company recently announced its latest release, what they’ve termed a “DevOps 2.0 platform” that extends beyond CI/CD to provide automated flow of software from source control to fully deployed, multi-container environments, without the need for DevOps code.

With the introduction of Shippable CI/CD for OpenShift Enterprise 3, Shippable brings this same functionality to the OpenShift platform. “We couldn’t be more excited to work with Red Hat,” said Avi Cavale, CEO and Co-Founder, Shippable. “Partnering with Red Hat to bring our product to customers on premises is a fantastic opportunity for Shippable and we think it provides a valuable addition to OpenShift Enterprise 3.”

“With OpenShift Enterprise 3, we completely re-architected to enable our customers to take advantage of two emerging standards, Docker containers and Kubernetes container orchestration,” said Chris Morgan, Technical Director, OpenShift Ecosystem at Red Hat. “Given Shippable’s Docker-based CI/CD cloud platform, they were an ideal fit to extend the OpenShift Enterprise 3 platform for customers looking for a CI/CD solution that integrates smoothly without the need to operate a separate CI/CD infrastructure.”

Shippable and Red Hat disclosed that they have been collaborating since January on engineering and marketing activities in preparation for the launch. Further collaboration between the two companies will focus on bring their respective products to market. Initially, Red Hat will provide Shippable with distribution channels through their sales force and online marketplace. Shippable will continue to collaborate with Red Hat engineering and enhance the product on an ongoing basis.
