-- Digital innovator from leading global agency joins leadership team at Houston-based integrated advertising and communications firm --

HOUSTON--()--Houston-based MMI Agency has named Benjamin Spiegel as its new CEO. Spiegel brings proven digital expertise and years of agency experience to enhance MMI Agency’s strategic leadership, enabling the agency to best serve existing clients and offer a suite of expanded capabilities to the numerous Fortune 500 companies that headquarter in Houston and beyond.

Spiegel joins MMI Agency from Catalyst/GroupM, a WPP Company, where he led the U.S. search practice, managed the U.S. Procter & Gamble (P&G) business, and most recently served as vice president of innovation on the P&G business. His team was responsible for delivering innovative solutions that enable P&G’s global brands to consistently win in digital.

MMI Agency founder, Cindy Marion, remains as company owner and president, focusing her efforts on strategic planning, cultural leadership, agency management, and development of the executive team.

“We want to bring the very best skills to our clients, the very best opportunities to our employees, and the very best performance – in a marketing and advertising agency – to the city of Houston,” Marion said. “So, we are always on the lookout for talent that helps our team to be even better. Benjamin is known for the highest level in strategic thinking and digital transformation, and his addition to our leadership team reflects the digital trajectory that the industry is on. He will help MMI Agency to continue innovating and leading in this area.”

MMI Agency has seen a long period of sustained growth and has cultivated traditional marketing expertise throughout, working with clients that include household names such as Allstate, AIG, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Shell. Today, the privately owned agency has more than 80 full-time employees, and 2014 revenues were $20.5 million, reflecting a 21 percent increase over the previous year.

“MMI Agency is a special kind of mid-sized agency with the ability to be agile and nimble in a marketplace that is changing quickly, where consumer behavior is constantly evolving and new technologies are emerging,” Spiegel said. “We believe there is a huge national opportunity for MMI Agency to create and activate innovative, integrated campaigns that deliver high-impact results more effectively than larger, less flexible agencies can produce.

“I’m excited to be in Houston, as this diverse and growing city hosts an incredible untapped pool of talent, opportunity and innovation. Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S. and home to more Fortune 500 companies than anywhere except New York. The Houston advertising and marketing industry has been flying under the radar for too long and we are going to change that.”
